These creatures are created using the Nintendo DS. Using a homebrew program called "Colors". It's a great program to use for sketching and it's free! I highly recommend getting a NDS just to use it as a affordable digital sketchbook, which cost 129.99 or a used one for 100 bucks or less. You'll also need a R4 card that cost 20 bucks or get a kit that cost 40-50 bucks. Just google it up to find more info.
The first panel, starting on the left is called "Speak No Evil", on the upper right: Old Pah, below it: "Shrimp", and the bottom left: "Wurm". Each monster took about a 30 minutes to speed paint.

Really nice sketches man :D
Tyler West likes this program alot. Big article about it in IFX 35.
I want it so much!
This program is also aviable on iPhone and Ipod touch, though it costs a few bucks. I should also mention that this version does not support pressure sensitivity, but can simulate it by tilt.
It can also record the process easily. You can learn alot from the videos posted on their website.
these are so cool, i like the style of it
Yeah pokepetter, that's exactly where I found out about the NDS on the article in IFX 35. I just wish nintendo makes a even more bigger screen.
Thanx Gibbo!
