Well its been a while since I actually posted something here.
And I still have to scan the few things I did in Lombok...

Anyhow here is a little by product from a other trace I'm working on:

Nice! I like the dragon's detail. I can't make out the Chinese character. May I ask what it says?

How did you do this? Photoshop?

I like that you made it red and black. A nice combination. :)

I made this one in Illustrator since I seem to work much better with that one than Photoshop.

I find working with Vectors a nice advantage, since I got more control that way.

As for the characters in the back it says "Fan Shen". Which could translate into turning around.

There is a larger story behind it, if your interested, let me know.

Hi Knuckes930, wonderful job using illustrator! I need to learn how to do that. Yes, please tell me more about the story behind it.

JOsh.

Fan Shen was a term used by the Chinese communists during there fight against the Kuomintang during and after WWII. Turning around, going into a new direction under communist rule, so to say.

I read this in a journal from a American journalist, who was there during those times, when I was my self working in Egypt.

Since going to Egypt was for me, certainly going into a new direction, which did do a LOT of good for me. I adopted the term. Being half Chinese they say it does suit me. =) Besides learning the meaning of Fan Shen I also learned a lot about a certain person I know. Was kinda weird reading and comparing.

So I tend to sign things off with those characters. I found that adding them to the background did make the things look better also. :D

I see.. That's interesting. I myself is a Chinese, but a Singaporean Chinese. Haa.. Certainly, to add chinese characters or any form of words/phrase does add design to a whole artwork. :)

Nice work, Knuckles930. The dragon looks great. I think the chinese characters needs to be brightness for contrast with the dragon and background. I hate the vectorial software, like Illustrator or CorelDraw, is to complicate for me :)

Well I wanted the characters on the background, thats why there dimmed.

As for the vectors the basic isn't to
hard compared with Photoshop painting I think. It's when you get into the Mesh Tool where it gets really hard.
