Hi, my name's Nick Fechter and I'm a seventeen-year-old student who attends Neville High School. I've been striving greatly to improve my talent in art ever since I've asked the Editor of my school newspaper if I could create a comic strip. The top piece of art is a portrait I did of my English teacher, and the bottom one is an illustration of Edgar Allen Poe's poem "The Raven" that I did for a poetry project. I also have a webcomic (of sorts) online which you can visit by clicking the following link:http://nevilleandcompanycomics.blogspot.com/I'm open to any advice, suggestions, or commentary that your willing to provide. My hope is to one day to become as successful and talented as all of you :)
All the Best,
Nick Fechter

Hi there... welcome around here! You'll learn here for sure! ;)
What I recommend you is to study the head anatomy and keep in mind where to make soft edges and hard edges. Soft edges alone will make the overall piece a bit blurred and smudged. Keep in mind that and practice practice practice! Good luck and post more in the future! :)
Peace
Thanks for the advice Luca, what you've just told me was really helpful, since I find issues like skin tone and constrast to be a little confusing. And thank you for the kind words, they always motivate me to practice and improve.
All the Best,
Nick Fechter
