This is a portrait of my sisters husband. Can anyone give me some hint, how I can give good color values to it? Airbrush with low opacity and floating?

Nice dude, maybe you can use this palette (http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/27-Aug-2005/59753-colorpalette.JPG) to colour the skin ^^
I think that maybe the skin is more dark than the normal skin, isn't it?
Hey thanks for the link! I found Xias palette here too. Maybe ill try with some of them. Hm, yes the grey is too dark, but it wasnt final, too. I wanted to lighten it later. I want to make the lighting/geometry with greyscale color and then give only 1 or 2 final color. Would that work?
You're probably better off using a hard brush instead of a soft brush. You have much more edge control that way. Use brush opacity to blend.
Thank you very much for the hint pokepetter! But I dont know exactly what you mean. Do you mean the face lighting/shadowing or the edges like eyes/nose. Or do you mean no soft brush at all things? Thanks! :)
You might also wane add some part of the neck and shoulders later.
You can take a look here

when you're using a soft brush all the edges will get soft. However, if you use a hard edged brush you can decide exactly where to soften the edges.
