Nice brush work. The values read well even though the strokes are (intentionally) rough.
Here is one suggestion: you can create a focal point or entry point by making the fireballs non-parallel--maybe have them emanation from a vanishing point. It might help lead the viewer's eye toward the figure and add some dynamism to the piece.
I like the loose, free feel of this. It has a cool pastel feeling. Have you ever seen any of Andrew Jones's work? Kinda reminds me of him. Not his final pieces, but the feeling he gives with lots of pattern and line.
I agree with Andrew. Right now it feels like my eye keeps wanting to go to the meteors, rather than the figure. Also, it feels a little flat, because you've got a strict profile of the face, and the meteors going from right to left, rather than into and out of the space.
