Red Guard
Here's a new one. I tried to make it somewhat of a manga style.
Red Guard; from 1966 to 1968 this name was used for the soldiers from Mao Zedong's Red Army.
crits: do you do crits on here? oh well let me try lol i shouldnt really be giving crits coz im not that good but from what you posted i think you need to work on hands a bit more. i suck at hands too but its cool to study them, umm i think one of the biggest things in manga is the highlights in the eyes so it would of probly looked cooler if u added them.
but i dont know what you was going for maybe you wanted it liek that or maybe you just didnt care, im just trying to help and i hope i didnt affend you.
Are you trying to turn us into the Red Guard? (Just kiddin) I like the use of color and the simplicity of this one. Your choice of palette and value are consistence...keep working at it.
Allthough I am working my way to the more known traditional propaganda, as used in China ext. Most of my work now is somewhat directed from Constructivism (the posters), thus the way the hands are drawn more rough and squared.
For the palette, I made my own swatches. Did took a while before I found the directory where they where stored but found them. :)
