Hi folks,
My name is Anton, I'm just another person inspired by Xia's tutorials :)
watched a lot of them, they are very helpful, thanks!
I was keeping an eye on this community as well, and I thought that people here might give me some good advices so that I can improve my drawing...
Here is my first post, a dragon drawing, feel free to criticize! ;)
PS: I'm pretty noob in painting, started learning like couple of months ago. But I guess I have a patience and desire to improve :)
Cheers,
Anton

I am a little embarrassed about showing my character.Any idea or notion about his name?Something modern with a J.Is it too spiky ?
According to the book, her uniform consist, from head to toe: Irena covers her head with a dark ski mask, paints her surrounding eyes with shoe polish to cover her exposed flesh. She wears a shemagh, Arab headdress (not mentioned in the book). I thought it would be a nice design element. Adorned in a mechanic's coverall as her basic uniform. Black gloves, again to hide most of her exposed flesh, except for her trigger finger, nail painted in purple (favorite color.). Wears a simple military belt, to carry extra ammo and food. Also fitted with Russian inspired combat boots. Irena's rifle of choice is the American made M-14, used during the Vietnam war, and still in use today. Chambers a 7.62mm round, kept nicely packed in a 20 round magazine. She also tapes up metal parts that can rattle and make noise, especial her rifle sling, in order to maintain noise discipline.
I painted her using a couple of software packages using Photoshop and Painter. And of course the illustration started off as a drawing. And then scanned to Photoshop.
Hey community, it's been a lot since I hear from you (even your replies Xia). Well hope everyone of you is fine. I did this during a whole day at home (with a cold). I don't know how to describe it... something that had in mind. Well, visit my blog to see the whole video process of it!
All comment are more than welcome! :)

Peace!
So I guess that by now most of us are sober again from the new years parties
although I might have some more coming up when I get back home from almost
3 months being abroad.
BUT that does not mean that we can leave this community that we have build up
over quite some time. Note that the first post was made on Thursday, February 21, 2008
which means that the 1 year IDG community celebration is also coming up quickly.
Not forgetting to mention the first posts of IDG it self in August 2007.
But thats more into Xia's hands rather than mine.
But for the celebration of the 1st year of the IDG community, lets hear some of
your idea's. See if we can make it something nice, to show our dedication to both
our own works and the effort made by Xia to bring us all together in the fist place.
So I hope I will see you all posting again this year, since a lot of you got much
better than when you first arrived here.
Best for the new year!

Just a sketch of something that came while I was doodling and experimenting with Photoshop... had no reference and nothing of planned. Hope you like it!
Peace!
I used the same technique as I use when I paint pandas with black ink (except that on digital you can be more free since you can erase the mistakes :D )
Well, hope you like it!
Feel Free to Comment!
Peace!

Your comments and critique are welcomed:)
Thank's a lot;)
Well as some of you community told me, here I rendered the head a bit more and added some other design. Hope you find it better now!
Thanks for the help and opinions - much appreciated!
I wonder what made me post immediately. Could you Xia maybe have something to do with that? Hmmm...
It's time for a small update. Speedpainting
Made these from last Monday to today. They suck, I know. None are finished. I'm tying to push the quality further each time, at least from now on. This technique relies on recognizing random shapes. I've tested the versatility and it's pretty good. However all the other stuff needs improving. Hopefully this will turn into something good.
It has been an interesting journey so far.

it was supposed to be the Manta from Unreal tournament 3 but it looks like Xia's hoovercraft.
Not what I expected,but it's shiny!
A very quick sketch, nothing of special as you can see. No reference as usual... that's why I don't get in too much detail. Feel free to say what you think.... I like when others say their opinion!

Hey everyone! This is a sketch I'm work on, I got inspired from this book I'm reading called, "Pretty Birds" (Good read by the way!) Set during the Bosnian Civil War. It's about Irena a teenage girl who is caught in the middle of the war and volunteers to be a sniper- story in a nutshell.
Before I refine the sketch and proceed to digitally paint, does anybody see any technical problems with the drawing. I've come to a point where I see no problems even when I look at it after a couples of hours, it seems alright.
Thanx everyone.
This was really unplanned! I just started putting colors, formed a mountain and then this idea came in mind. I thaught of doing a rocky head of a creature raising from the earth! The birds should symbolize a disturbing environment.... anyways feel free to say your opinion! Keep in mind that I had no reference! :)
Peace!
