Rodin
Quick sketch from old photo of Rodin. Pastel on toned paper.
Thanks for the feedback, De Sade. The great thing about Art books is that the rules haven't really changed so used book stores are a gold mine. I've been drawing digitally for about 5 years so I really enjoy just drawing on paper again. Also, you can always tell when a digital artist trained first in traditional art.
Guybell, this is really a good piece. You really dig the way through this style. Also, it's really true when you said that you can always tell if the digital artist has a solid foundation in traditional art. De Sade, I recommend you to get a solid foundation in traditional art. It'll always help you ;)
I love this style - this technique really seems to be working out for you - maybe you should try this digitally now?
ReplyDeleteI've tried looking for the book you said... It's too expensive =(
Could you give any more info?
Thanks for the feedback, De Sade.

I'll start hunting - I usually do - man, I'd love to have my hands on that book though - I'll check the libraries here...
ReplyDeleteSee, I think you have to be a good traditional artist to be a better digital artist.
I never started art on paper, I started on tablet.
